Lead the Way: Imagining More for Arrupe Jesuit

Updated: Feb 8, 2023

On Thursday, December 1, 2022 Lead the Way: Imagining More for Arrupe Jesuit co-chairs Mike and Nancy Zoellner welcomed fellow campaign committee members, and several of Arrupe Jesuit’s biggest cheerleaders to celebrate 20 years of accomplishments and the beginning of a new chapter in the school's bright future. “Because of Arrupe, my sisters and I are the first in our family to graduate from high school. I was the first in our family to graduate from college. My sister, Gabriela will be the first to obtain a Masters degree. And, very likely, my sister, Vanessa will be the first to get a PhD!”

In early 2023, Arrupe will begin a bold campaign to raise over $45 million. The Lead the Way campaign’s goals are to:

  • Broaden the impact on our students, their families, our work study partners and, ultimately, the city of Denver and state of Colorado by deepening the student experience in and out of the classroom.

  • Strengthen the manner in which our mission is delivered and ensure that the Arrupe Jesuit experience remains centered on the needs of our students and equips them to meet future challenges.

  • Increase enrollment to 500 students in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

In addition to many programmatic enhancements, the Lead the Way campaign will significantly change the footprint of the Arrupe campus. An addition on the north side of the building, where the current Holy Family rectory sits, will house a new gymnasium, locker rooms, an expanded fitness center, and 12,000 additional square feet for classrooms, student formal and informal learning areas, and student support offices. The current facility will later be renovated, adding another 15,500 square feet including centralized CWSP and counseling offices, an expanded cafeteria and teachers’ workroom, and the space to grow enrollment by nearly 40%. For 20 years, Arrupe Jesuit has inspired hope in our students. With the Lead the Way capital campaign, we strive to meet the Jesuit goal of going beyond the status quo and always seeking the Magis for some of Denver’s most deserving students.
